Suns Nite Hoops (SNH) was established in 1997 by Jerry Colangelo, former Phoenix Suns General Manager. Mr. Colangelo had a vision to utilize his resources through basketball as a means to reach at risk young adult men through mentoring, developing life skills and of course, basketball. Since its inception, SNH has had the opportunity to work with many community leaders and businesses to serve fulfill its mission of helping get young at risk men back on track.
SNH participants receive support through mentoring, life skills education and organized recreation to help these young men gain self sufficiency, strengthen their roles in their families and avoid the justice system.
To date, the SNH program has served over 1500 young men age 18-26 in the Phoenix area. SNH is one of the few programs that targets young adult males, particularly at risk males, to provide support and skills to ensure that these young men are able to turn their life around.
